Research and Development
Product Information
We have continually invested, as a company, in Research and Development. In2tec leads the way in its markets for the number of patent applications introduced every year and it is this constant development that allows us to push the envelope of the 'Interface Product' market!
Iflex® (Flexible printed circuits):
In response to a need in industry to have more choice in flexible circuit capabilities In2tec has, whilst maintaining more traditional FPC (flexible printed circuit) processes, developed a set of innovative alternatives. Iflex® now provides a product solution that can 'perfectly' meet your cost versus performance needs. Utilising an additive conductive process and varying the substrate materials the Iflex® range now covers the ground that traditional polymide fpc's cannot! In2tec has been innovating and pushing the boundaries of the flexible circuit and specialist interconnect industry for the last 15 years. It is with this knowledge and experience that continues to bring great rewards to our existing blue chip customer base.
Conductive Contouring (3D circuits):
In2tec has patented a revolutionary process that allows fully populated circuit assemblies to be formed into 3 dimensional complex curves. Forming circuit layers to a pre-defined 3D structure provides a unique opportunity to save weight and space, whilst also opening up design concepts that would not normally have been possible.
Touchsense:
In2tec has been developing interactive touchsense systems for a number of years. The new generation of switch panels, 'In2sense', provides the customers with an extremely durable and robust product with exceptional functionality and highly flexible configuration capabilities. The fundamental design parameters have been set to meet or exceed aerospace specifications and the complete lack of moving parts means that the life expectancy is over 50 million operations. Combine this with the truly unique brushed alluminium polyester substrates and we have a first to market in terms of aesthetic design aspect.
Touchscreens:
In2tec has been working with design teams at Atmel to produce a number of bespoke touchscreen applications for a some high tech customers in the aerospace, medical and elevator markets . It is this experience and application design capability whilst working hand in hand with Atmel that is providing the interface markets a lower cost higher spec route to market.
In2tec uses Atmels single chip solutions.
Single-Chip Touch Solution
maXTouch controllers feature Atmel's patented charge transfer technology which enhances the traditional approach to mutual capacitance solutions and combines all aspects of advanced touch sensing onto a single chip:
- Unlimited touches
- Low power consumption
- Fast response — completely redraws screen every 4/1000 of a second (4ms) to eliminate recalibration issues
- Excellent signal-to-noise ratio for superior precision — 3x better than competitive products
- Superior performance for first-touch response — 3x better than competitive products
- Unambiguous, unlimited touch support
- Responsive user interface: > 250 Hz report rate for a single touch
- Extremely low current consumption: < 1.8 mW in "touch-ready" state
- Two touch adjacency of less than 10 mm on a 4.3" touchscreen
- Small footprint with few external components
- Supports stylus, fingernails, and gloves
- Grip and face suppression functionality: avoids false touches
- Size and angle of touch supported
- Screen sizes up to 10.2" are supported
Ultra Low resistive circuits:
The ability to provide product that utilises additive processes to polymer thick film substrates but providing a low impedance route for the current flow has been a task not easily provided by other manufacturers. In conjunction with some high tech ink systems and laminating processes In2tec has produced a circuit capability with the resistive qualities very close to pure copper tracks on a pcb or 'kapton' polyimide system. This allows a far more effective utilisation of raw materials making it a more cost effective product and just as importantly a far 'greener' product.
Ultra Fine pitch additive circuit processes:
In2tec are renowned within the industry as providing high specification printed flexible circuits. We are the only supplier in Europe that has, in volume production, parts with 0.2mm track and gap circuits and regularly supplies customers with circuits in excess of 10 layers. Our printing capability within class 10,000 clean room environments with proprietary process makes us one of the leaders in this industry.
Flexible printed circuit assemblies:
Over the last 10 years In2tec has been in constant development of design and manufacturing processes that allow large scale active and passive components to be bonded on Polymer Thick Film Substrates (the Iflex® range). Due to this progressive attitude, today we can offer an unparalleled product that can simulate practically all current printed circuit board assemblies but with all the benefits of the Iflex® range. These products have already been driving the Automotive, medical, Banking and even high end audio markets for some time.
