Case Study
MOTOROLA / LONDON UNDERGROUND COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM AND INTERFACE UNITS
Project
Motorola required a stringent set of operating and environmental parameters in the design of a brand new train based communications system. A number of optional units situated in the driver's cab and station master's base facility provides GPRS sourced critical communications. In2tec's role was to design and develop a durable and robust stand alone interface unit and train radio unit.
Solution
As a Strategic Supplier to Motorola and the development company, APD Communications, In2tec have always prided itself in providing unique and innovative solutions to solve it's customers problems. In the case of this project the interface unit was designed for an extremely hostile environment. IP67 rated with a vandal attack capability, cast aluminium casing and high level of integrated sealing was fundamental.
Built in In2tec UK's Class 10,000 clean room facility the unit is tested, flash programmed and delivered direct to Motorola and London Underground rolling stock assembly factory.
