For the past 3 Years In2tec has been working closely with the National Physics Laboratory and GEM to develop a completely innovative recyclable and sustainable solution set for printed circuit assemblies.
Global manufacturing companies are continually being requested, through legislation, corporate levies and end-user pressure to reduce their environmental impact. It has become a significant focus for all that we tactically and strategically decrease our CO2 emissions through more sustainable manufacturing and increased recyclability of used materials.
As such, environmental innovation has become a core strategic ‘pillar’ in the manufacturing
fraternity and In2tec are at the hub of development of highly recyclable electronic assembly solutions. ReUse (Recyclable, Unzippable, and Sustainable Electronics) is a tripartite development programme led by In2tec with a focus on fundamentally increasing the recyclability of printed circuit board assemblies, from below 30% to greater than 90%.
The completion and culmination of this 3-year programme has provided In2tec with the tools to realise this target.
“After years of development the ReUse solution is a significant step forward for the industry. We have started to work with high level executives in the Automotive OEMs and are looking at the implementation of these products , initially into low volume bespoke vehicles with the aim to roll out the solutions to all vehicles in all markets over the coming years “ says Neil Armstrong Group Managing Director of In2tec “ Although the first projects are restricted to slightly lower complex populated pcba’s the speed of development is continually providing us with the tools to tackle all types of volumes and densities of population and board size. The market for these products is very broad and we aim to capitalise on this immediately ‘’
